I wake to the last flicker of dawn at the start of all things, all things that intend to play themselves out fully in the form of a day until they repeat themselves once more. In repetition we find comfort in the familiar rhythm against our chest to remind us of what we can expect in the hours still shadowed by the inaccessibility of dusk.

 Today I embrace the offerings of morning and the gift of life at all its cost. I am alive and a whisper in the air tells me a change of wind is on its way from the sea. I break from reverberation into something new with the aid of new friends, new breath, and eyes open to a world under silhouette of the ordinary. I am today as new to this place as the snow to the sands, I am Adam Carmichael. And out of the ash and the usual I take with me the spark and the strange and into the dawn under the ordinary I become more, more than myself, more than this world… I am less ordinary.
